Maria LaRochelle

Sweet Adeline’s has been part of my weekly routine since 1998. The friendships I have gained and vocal skills I have developed are part of my journey in life that I will always treasure. The constant improving in the art of a cappella singing has brought me a good sense of balance between hard work and good fun.

Since my journey began several years ago, I have sung in three choruses: Farmington Valley, Sound of New England and Millennium Magic. I sang lead for about 16 years and then switched to baritone which is my true love. I am currently singing bass and have found that part very challenging and still have a lot more learning ahead of me.

I currently work at Baystate Health as a HIM Healthcare Professional. I am the Supervisor of Transcription and Systems Administrator for the eScription software. I have two sons, Tom and Rob, who live in Texas and Colorado respectively. The other loves of my life are my 5 grandchildren, Tommy, Christian, Meghan, Tara and Jacqueline. When I retire in a few years, I plan to move closer to them so that I can see them on a regular basis.

When I’m not working, I am always singing, dancing at an oldies dance or on vacation @ Cape Code in Eastham, MA. I would also like to do more traveling as long as my funds hold out. I have visited Italy (twice) and Germany and looking forward to traveling to Aruba in March of 2008. What would make me happy is someday to revisit Italy (my native country) with my two sons and their families.
